Today we wanted to take the opportunity to talk about the differences between mini sessions and full sessions. There’s some really small differences and some really big differences that may be the deciding factor for you! We actually get this question a lot! We enjoy shooting both types of sessions but we’re here to tell you which might best for you!

Mini Sessions:

Let’s start off with mini sessions. We offer mini sessions year round in each area we serve! We do themed holiday minis (i.e. Valentine’s Minis, Red Truck Minis, Back-to-School Minis, etc.) and location minis (i.e. Harlinsdale Farm, Adriatica Village, Libby Hill, Driftwood Beach, etc.). Mini sessions are designed to be short and sweet. They’re typically between 10 and 15 minutes long. These are usually for people who don’t have time to fit a full session into their busy schedules. They’re for the moms with kids in sports, young children or even couples who work or travel so much that they rarely have time at home.

A mini session is NOT right for you if you’re an expecting mother, a new mom with a newborn or a senior in high school. All these sessions are milestone sessions and typically there are outfit changes, multiple locations or other factors involved that would last longer than the 10-15 minutes of time you’d get with a mini session. With full sessions, you’ll also receive more images in your gallery. This is good for a senior portrait session or a maternity session when you’re looking for more poses and outfit changes.

Full Sessions:

When it comes to full sessions, some client’s just enjoy them more. Full sessions are typically best for the types of sessions I mentioned before as well as extended families. Sessions where grandparents may be involved or sessions where there are older kids who are married with children. While you can still book two consecutive mini sessions for an extended family, we suggest a full session just so we can ensure we get all the shots you would love when there’s more then one single family involved.

We’d love to schedule a session with you! If you’re interested in booking, we’d love for you to fill out the contact form below and we’ll send you over some available dates and times we have!
