As a McKinney maternity photographer, we’re always honored when families choose us to capture the sweetest moments before they welcome their newborn into their family! The Cook family was SO much fun to capture. We did their session back in fall of 2021 and it was stunning. The family of 4 was expecting a new tiny addition so this was the perfect time to update their family photos for the last time as a family of 4 and get a few maternity shots for mama! We had a blast with the Cooks and we can’t wait to share this family portrait session with you!

When we shoot a family session, we always like to get a little information from the family. The names of their kids, their ages, any special things we should know before the time of the session. Small things that help the associate know what to prepare for! Well the first thing I do when I write blogs is go take a look at their questionnaire and my favorite part of this whole blog is the fact that at the bottom of the questionnaire Mama said “I’m hoping I don’t go into labor during the session!”

I can say that she didn’t go into labor during their photo session! They sure did have a good time together though! The Cook children were so much fun. They LOVE each other and they LOVE their newest sibling. These boy were so easy to capture. Their smiles always looked incredible and they always had something to laugh about. They took direction well and were so patient with us while we got some great shots of mom and dad!

This session was at Adriatica Village. The bridge in front of Bella Donna Chapel was open so we got to take a couple shots there and then around our typical spots as well! It was a bright day out so lighting was tricky but our associate did a great job capturing the best photos for the Cook family.

Our favorite shot from this whole session is the shot where mom and dad are having a moment and the kids are running around them in a circle. It’s so special because sometimes life feels chaotic but you can still chose to take time for yourself or with your spouse. Let the kids run around sometimes, it’s OKAY!
