Have you ever thought about taking family portraits at Harlinsdale Farm in the summer? It’s such a beautiful and serene place that makes for stunning family photos. Recently, I had the pleasure of taking pictures of the Lawson family at the farm, and it was such a great experience.

The Lawsons have two young kids, a 15-month-old son named Scotty and a four-year-old daughter named Ivy. Let’s be honest, it can be tough to get kids to cooperate for photos, but the Lawsons were so relaxed and understanding throughout the session. When we arrived, Ivy fell and scraped her knee, poor thing. But she was such a trooper and didn’t let it bring her down. 

We started off with some individual portraits of the kids, letting them play and explore while I took some candid shots. Then we moved on to the family portraits, which we took in different spots around the farm, like a wooden bridge and an open field. The Lawsons were so great at following directions and even got down on the ground for some cute family shots.

Even though it was hot and humid, the Lawsons were so patient and relaxed, which made the session enjoyable for everyone. We managed to get some amazing photos of the family, capturing their natural personalities and expressions. It was really heartwarming to see the love and connection between them.

On delivery day, the Lawsons were super happy with the photos and grateful to have captured these memories that they can cherish for years to come. I highly recommend taking family portraits at Harlinsdale Farm in the summer if you’re in the Nashville, Tennessee area. The stunning scenery and relaxed atmosphere make for a unique and memorable experience.
